This week is going by fast!

Today was a relatively calm day! "Senior designer" is gone! Wa-hoo!! First thing this morning I went to the Gor jobsite. I went with one of our installers. We worked out sizes of panels for a perfect fit. We are covering a wall that has an ugly electrical panel on it and a door that leads into where the HVAC is. We are covering it with matching veneer. The wall and door will look like our cabinetry. It is going to be beautiful. It took us about 2 hours to make sure it all fit perfect. I worked on the revisions for the rest of the day. I use AutoCAD for all my drawings. It details everything to the 1/32"! I love that kind of detail. I must be whack to say something like that. Now, Gor is off my plate for the time being. I will wait for a complete acknow-ledgment from Redl, the cabinet manufacturer.
I met Kaydee after work to go see a movie. It was a sneek peak hosted by Glamour magazine & Mercury. We saw Domino. It was very violent. Lots of foul language, gun shooting, nudity an gore. I like Keira Knightly, but the movie was just ok. Too much of the "ugly" world for my taste. Thank goodness it was free. I had a great time with Kaydee. She brought her sister Maxime.
-Until tomorrow.

Just another day

Today was just a normal day at work. I worked on Sim. That job just won't die. I still didn't finish. Maybe tomorrow all the details will be wrapped up. All that's left is the Theater Bar!! I have a new job: McKell. It is in the beginning stages. The conceptual floorplan and perspective has been done. Now it's time to start the pricing process. I also went to the Gor jobsite today with "senior designer." We double checked some measurements and it's a good thing we did. There were some minor errors. I have to make all the changes tomorrow. I WILL get it all done because "senior designer" will be gone!!! He and his family are going to Lake Powell for the next 11 days! A whole week to catch up and to get everything organized!! I am also getting a new office! I designed my current office and " senior designer" decided that he wanted to share an office with me. I didn't design the office for him to be in there. He has a lot of "stuff"...papers, folders, veneer samples, doors, phone messages, plans, old plans...everything. He is organizationally challenged. He couldn't find or keep up with anything without his employees. So, I have designed the new office to be fully functional to organized all his "stuff" and mine. I will have tons of file cabinets and storage!! I'm giving him a small space that I can keep clean and free of all "stuff." Right now my office is the office you can look into when you come up to the receptionist desk. If the receptionist has stepped away, they look to me. I don't always see them because there is a huge glare from my window. I see the reflection of the blinds. My new office will be in the back AND I will have an ocean view!!! With the time change it gets darker faster and there have always been some beautiful sunsets!! It is a ways away though. The manufacturer who will be doing the cabinetry is the same that is building the cabinets for Sim and Py. I don't think I have talked about Py much. I will be working on that more either next week or the next. I have to do what is priority first.
Had our small group tonight. We talked about Moses. I really love our group. I learn so much! J & I watched Lost tonight. It's so weird. I don't know where their gonna go with that story. There are so many websites that talk about why this and why that. Weird show, but I like it.
Oh, and the Padres just won the western division. Yeah, go Padres!!
Time for bed, finally!
-Until tomorrow.

Monday Once Again.

Nothing different about today. Another monday, that's all. This is the last week of September. I can't believe it. Where did September go? I am dying to get my haircut!! My bangs are in my eyes. I had an appointment for the 16th this month and I thought it was for the 23nd. I realized it the day before. My hair stylist is on vacation all this week. I can't see her till Monday, October 3nd, 6:45. I'm gonna die!!
I talked to my mom for almost an hour today. It is like 100 degrees in my hometown. They finally got electricity Saturday night but their air conditioning burned out. The house is almost 26 years old. That's also how old the air conditioning is. They went and bought some window units for now. Their not going to invest in a new airconditioner right now because it will cool down around the middle of October. My grandmother just got electricity back at 4pm today. She has been staying with my mom & dad. I forgot to ask my mom where my dad was going this week. He's a truck driver, always on the road.
That's about it for today!
-Until tomorrow!

Nice day of Nothing!

J & I were supposed to drive up to LA today but J got sunburned yesterday at SeaWorld and just didn't feel good today. So, we slept till 10am. I got up and went and had a manicure and a pedicure. I took off my acrylic nails. My nails are natural. I am a serious ex-nail biter. I have had acrylics on for 10 months straight now. Maybe I have kicked the habit this time. We will see. After my nail appointment J & I went and got lunch then watched one of the movies we rented yesterday. We watched Fever Pitch with Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon. I loved it, I am putting it on one of my favorite movies list. I haven't like Jimmy Fallon in anything since he left SNL. He doesn't act like an idiot in this movie, that's why I like it. I give it 5 STARS!!
I called my mom today. My parents live in Texas. They are about 2 hours north of Houston. They got some pretty bad winds last night and this morning and their electricity was out most of the day. Nothing too serious. Mom said she went to Wal-Mart on Thursday and the shelves were just bare and the traffic was horrible too. The traffic is never horrible in my hometown, ever. My brother lives in Dallas and told her that it was nice and sunny there today. Amazing how different the weather can be just 4 to 5 hours away.
After the movie, J & I needed to go to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things: WD-40, washing detergent and an Xbox game, Nascar-Chase for the Cup, that J wanted for his birthday. Wal-mart is always packed and insane! I'm really glad we finally got some WD-40. Our keys won't go all the way in our deadbolt locks. It's such a pain to lock and unlock the doors lately!
I have been doing some blog jumping tonight and I came across this National Geographic Article. You have to read this about New Orleans. It was written in Ocotober 2004. It freaked me out.

Day off!!!

Shamu at SeaWorld Posted by Picasa

I woke up at around 9am this morning. J & I went to SeaWorld all day. We had a great time...except J forgot to put on sunscreen. He got burned. Boo. We got home at around 5pm. We went to Blockbuster and got a few movies. J made hamburgers on the grill. We watched all our recorded tv. We watched: CSI, The OC, ER and How I met your mom. We are going to bed now.
-Until tomorrow.

Happy Birthday!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY "KAYDEE"!

September 22, 2005

Happy Birthday Nessa!

Today is my friend Nessa's birthday. She took the day off from work & school!! I hope you had a good one!!

We had a staff meeting this morning. At staff meetings we get fake "KE" money for doing our job and following procedures correctly. I got $3,200 in fake "KE" money! With fake "KE" money you can turn it in for things such as...is you collect $7500 you get a visa gift card worth $350 (in real money, of course!). I'm already half way there again!! Yeah!

I told "Senior designer" that he needed to pretend that for the next 2 weeks I was on vacation, so I can dig myself out of the hole I am in. Work is just piled up big time. My to do list is out of control. So, we met for about 30 minutes to decide priorities and we finalized Sim's stainless steel drawer glides and interior melamine selection with "LM" (that is the cabinet manufacturer). I worked on Gor for the rest of the day. I completed the list of questions and revisions that Redl (this is one of our cabinet manufacturers) needed to start production on the cabinetry for Gor. Then I worked on master builder. Master builder is a program that we put in all our costs that we estimated for the job and then put in our profit that we estimate we'll make. That way at the end of the job, you can see what the job really cost and what your profit really is. The goal is for your cost to be right on what you originally estimated or under!! I completed it at around 4:30. I started the installation and production folders. 5:30pm came quick, so I cleaned up my desk and left! I can finish all that on Monday. Meanwhile, I'm off to have my 3 DAY WEEKEND!!!!
I watched Martha Stewart Apprentice that I recorded from last night. It was ok, nothing spectacular, just a bunch of annoying people that talk too much. J & I watched Survivor. I hope it gets better. I'm just not excited about it yet. We also watched The Apprentice. This show was just ok too. I usually really like seeing what their tasks are and how they go about executing it. This task was boring. The girl who got fired just wouldn't shut up. I knew she was going to talk herself into getting fired. She said the stupidest thing you could ever say. Trump divided the teams into men & women. This girl, he name was Melissa, kept saying that women were usually intimidated by her and didn't like her. For the whole task she kept saying this. The women lost the task by $11.00. Everyone on the women's team said that Melissa was a negative force on the team. So, the project manager only brought in Melissa at the end instead of picking 2 people. Melissa starts talking (stupid) and saying that women are usually intimidated by her and don't like her. Trump asked her why...she said "because I'm beautiful, smart, educated.." Trump says to her, there is a beauty queen on the team you are on and all the other women are beautiful and smart as well. Then, Melissa said what got her fired...I just can't work with women. Trump fired her. What a bonehead!! Some people...
So, off to bed. I started a new book tonight! Chronicles of Narnia!! I got it off of amazon for $11 including shipping!!
-Until tomorrow.

September 21, 2005

Happy Birthday to my sweet J!

Today was a reall good day. I went in to work at 7:15 and got all my questions answered from "Senior designer". We got Maiz done, finally. Did some project management on Far and worked on Sim details for the rest of the day. I had to finish the desk and the display case. It is amazing how long these small details take. I also started going over revision 2 of the working drawings. The working drawings are my original drawings that I sent to the manufacturer and they put even more detail in them. I have to approve every piece, part and measurement before it goes into production. This is our 2nd set of revisions. There are 3 areas: the kitchen, the living room bar and the theater bar. We are just doing revisions on the kitchen right now, we still have both bars to go. I left work at 4:30!!!! Yeah me!!
When I got home I realized that I forgot to buy eggs and butter for the cake I was going to make for J. I was going to Sav-On around the corner to pick them up and I walked out the door without my keys. I locked myself out. I have never done that before. Luckily, J was right around the corner at his parents house. He came by, picked me up and we went to Sav-On. We also picked up Subway for dinner. I made the cake, chocolate with caramel frosting.
Small group was at someone else's house tonight. They live just 3 blocks from us. Our study was about Abraham. It is amazing to think about the faith he had. God appeared to him and told him to pick up his entire family and move to a land that he had never been to, or knew anything about. Abraham didn't have the Bible to see the whole story and to know the ending. Abraham's faith was amazing.
The cake was a hit. I am glad everybody liked it.
When J & I got home we decided to stay up late and watch Lost. It is gonna be a good season!
-Until tomorrow

Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday my sweet J!!!
I love you! I hope you have a
wonderful day!!!

Long day...it just wouldn't end!

The thunder and lightning were really awesome last night!!! I was really tired when I got up, but it was worth it. I got alot done today. I worked on Ken and Simkin today. I stayed at work till 8pm. I worked 12 1/2 hours today. I got a lot done though, not as much as I would like. I met J, Sarge & Clark at On the border and had dinner. We just got home. I was supposed to make a birthday cake tonight. I'll have to do it when I get home!
-Until tomorrow.

September 19, 2005

Monday down, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday to go!

Today was a boring day! I woke up to Jeff & Jeff changing My94.1 to Star94.1. They are basically advertising that everything is back...Jingleball, Becky's house, Jeff & Jer the same as before Jack. I worked on revising Maiz pricing all day long. That project just wouldn't die. I finally finished it at 5:30. I priced it 20 million ways. Hopefully the client will find an option they like. I got home and J had steaks just off the grill!! They were so good!!
My leg hurt on & off all day. I really wanted to work out tonight so I wrapped it up real good and went for a 1/2hour walk. At least I did something.
Until tomorrow.

September 18, 2005

Slow Sunday...

Didn't wake up till 9:30 this morning. I usuallly am not a sleep in kind of person, I must be tired. I relaxed and did nothing all day. We had softball tonight. There was plenty of people for the Rec team. When it came time for the Competitive team it got cold and I was tire of sitting around so I was ready to play softball tonight!! In the third inning I got hurt. I strained by quad muscle. I batted, but barely made it to first. I couldn't wait for the game to be over. It hurts pretty bad. I got In & Out for dinner! It was so good. You get hurt, you get In & Out...it makes me feel better!!! That's really all for today. Kaydee when you read this, tell Sarge I have a new nickname for him...The Intimidator. When he bats he yells and when he throws he yells. He's... The Intimidator!!! :)
-Until tomorrow.

September 17, 2005

Saturdays are just beautiful!

We slept till 9:00 this morning. We cleaned up the house. We went to the grocery store. We watched a movie: White Noise. It was weird. It wasn't as scary as I thought, it was an evil movie. We went to church at 5:15. Paster B preached on Colossians 3:12-17...Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. The two main parts that stick in mind was 1.) the story he told a story about a man named Mark Hughes. He started the company Herbalife. He was worth $400million dollars. He was married and divorced 4 times. He was obsessed with money. He owned a $31million dollar home in Malibu. He was addicted to alcohol and anti-depressants. He died at the age of 44 from an overdose. It is amazing how most of us think that if we only had money we would be happy. Money didn't make this guy happy.
2.)Forgiveness...we should do it immediately, completely, forever and gladly. This was so convicting to me. I hold grudges sometimes and don't even realize I'm doing it.
When J & I got home we watched Amercian Chopper. I really like this show. We also watched half of View From the Top with Gwenyth Paltrow & Mike Myers. It was cute. I would like to see the beginning. We've been watching alot of movies lately. I made a list of all the movies we have watched so far this month and I have given them star ratings. I'm a movie renter more than a movie goer.
-Until tomorrow.

September 16, 2005

friday, friDAY, FRIDAY!!!!

Today was a nice calm day at the office. I worked on Sim all day long. It's still not done yet. "Senior designer" is on a river trip testing out his new boat. Every summer "senior designer" and his family go to Lake Powell for 2 weeks. They own a share in a houseboat. They always take their boat The Eliminator. It was pastel 80s green & pink. They had it for like 20 years. On their trip in July The Eliminator sank. It sank 200 feet or so. They were really bummed out about it. So, they just bought a new Malibu ski/wakeboard boat. It is really beautiful. I got to see it yesterday. So, he was playing all day, while I tried to catch up. It was a nice work day. I wished I could have gotten alot more done. I would have to work 16 hours days for 2 weeks to catch up. J & I went to dinner at Pick up Stixs then to the movies. We met Amy Jo, Scout and Kaydee (Sarge is at the bike fest in Vegas). We saw The Man with Samuel L. Jackson and Eugene Levy. It was ok. There were a few funny scenes in it, but it was definitely a renter.
-Until tomorrow.

September 15, 2005

Busy Day!

I was all over the place today. I got up at 5:45am. I got to work at 7:30. I prepared for our meeting with Barn. We had to be there at 10am. The meeting was great! This is going to be a million dollar contract. It is a huge house and we are going to be doing the designs for all the cabinetry, ordering all the cabinetry, supplying and ordering all the granite countertops and appliances, and order and install all the interior doors and jambs. The house is in the permit stage. They are going to break ground in November. We will be ordering all the cabinets in the Spring 2006 and the house should be completed in November 2006. It is going to be a fun project to work on, I just have to make sure that I stay on top of the designs and keep everything on a schedule.
So, after the Barn meeting we went to "senior designer's" house. His wife had picked up their motorhome and drove it home, she needed for him to park it. I worked on revising the Maiz pricing. "Senior designer's" son went and got lunch for us...Subway...at least I got lunch!! We had another appointment at another client's house: Sim. We were 10 minutes late. We had to measure a fancy cappuccino maker. It's called a Capresso Impressa Coffee center. It costs $3,199.00.(that does not include tax, shipping or coffee. Here is the website if you want to purchase one for yourself (ha,ha) ...http://www.capresso.com/prod_super_z5.html. I watched all the videos and it is an awesome machine. We also measured the all in one printer, fax, copy machine for the desk that is in the kitchen. I am putting the printer in a cabinet and it will roll out on a platform. I have to make sure that it will function properly when you roll it out to use it. We also measured a few other little things. This client's current home is really incredible. It feels like a museum. It has white marble floors and mirrors everywhere. There is a ton of art from the 80s, everything is pink, blue and green pastel. Off the entry foyer is a round room of glass block, mirror and marble and there is a white baby grand piano in the middle. There is also this huge statue in the foyer with a fountain. Some people just live in a different world. This client bought a new home, tore it down to its studs and are re-building it how they want. We are providing cabinetry for the kitchen, the butler's pantry, the living room bar and the theater bar. This project is going to be really beautiful when it is done.
After this appointment "senior designer" had a doctor's appointment. Apparently, he has been trying to get rid of a wart on his finger. I parked the car while he ran in quick so they could freeze it again. TMI!! "Senior designer" drives a 1999 Corvette. I drove most of the day. The corvette has been my favorite car since I was a little girl. The only problem with my boss' vette is...it is automatic. Who drives an automatic sports car. I wish it was a stick! That would be awesome. Beggars can't be choosers. I get to drive a corvette sometimes, that is cool.
So, after the doctor appointment we finally headed back to the office. "Senior designer" had yet another appointment. I didn't have to be in this appointment because they were not my clients. Occasionally, I get so busy that I can't take new client meetings. So "senior designer" gets one of the other assistants to go to the appointment with him. If I don't start the job with him, I try to keep the assistant who started the job to keep the job. I can only do so much. I am only one person and I am running about 8 jobs right how. They are in all different phases of the design process. Pricing, ordering, working drawings, project management, crisis management...there is more but I don't feel like going in to all the phases. So, when I get too many jobs going, my "human" side kicks in, my cape rips (you know like as in super hero, who saves the day, has super powers) and I forget, or make mistakes, or forget, or forget. So, I am all for "senior designer" starting new jobs with the other assistants!!!!!!!
I got a little farther on my final revisions for Sim, but 5 o'clock came and I shut down the shop! I was ready to go home. I ran by Big Lots on the way home. My favorite thing right now is Nerds. Yes, the candy. I have developed quite a habit. If I get them from the store next door to work they are 75cents per box. If I go to Big Lots they are only 33cents per box. I only eat 1/2 a box a day. It's just what I'm into right now!! So, I got my nerds and I get home at about 6:15. J & I go get dinner and I can't believe it but it's Survivor time again. J & I have never missed a season of Survivor. It is kinda getting old, but why quit now. Finally, after a long and busy day it is finally sleepy time!! Goodnight!
-Until tomorrow.

I wish I were a cat...

Lazy Dark Posted by Picasa

Lazy Shadow Posted by Picasa

If this is what cats do all day, I want to be a cat. I took a bunch of pictures of the cats when I got home. I couldn't resist Dark, curled up to the sliding glass door.

I went in at 7am today. I completed Maiz pricing and we met with the client. Now I have to revise the pricing to give her different options. I started doing the cost estimate for Far today. I am so behind. The job wasn't even suppose to start until these cost estimates were done. The Far job has been demo'd, rough plumbing and rough electrical has been done, tile has been delivered to the job, hot mop happens on Friday, and cabinet delivery will be next Tuesday. At least the job is going smoothly...so far. If "senior designer" would stop giving me so many new jobs to price I might be able to complete all the stuff that needs to be done after the job is sold. Crazy, crazy, crazy. My back started hurting really bad today. I think that it had to do with working at home. I sat at the dining table for the past 2 days, sitting in one of the dining room chairs. That chair is not meant to sit in for longer than it takes to eat a meal. I went to the Chiropractor after work. I feel much better!!!
Our small group was canceled tonight so, J & I got dinner at Baja Fresh and we watched a scary movie...Hide and Seek. It has Robert DeNiro and Dakota Fanning in it. It was really good! I thought it was gonna be boogieman scary, but it is a psychological thriller. Well off to bed.

YEAH TEAM!!

The men's softball team at church did great tonight!! They won 29-7. They had a 9pm game tonight. Those are the only ones I can usually go to. I usually have my women's small group tonight, but I haven't been feeling well so I missed tonight. It was a really great game. They were razzing each other, it was really funny to listen to them.

I went home early again today. My stomach was still bothering me. I got alot of work done at home though. "Senior designer" called at about 2:30. He has been in Florida for the past two days. He wanted to know what the final numbers on Maiz was...$400,000 or so. That is for an entire house full of custom veneer cabinetry. I also worked on Barn elevations. I wanted to get the master bedroom entertainment center somewhat detailed and the family room entertainment center. I put 60" plasmas in both. We have a meeting with the Barns tomorrow. It's a $1,000,000 contract. Hopefully we get it. I have worked so hard on it.

I have also been working on Sarah Jean's baby shower invitations. I printed everything out. I just have to put them together. It will probably take a couple of days. I always end up making it more time consuming than it needs to be. Chica & I are planning the shower. It will be in October. Well, it's late. Gotta go get some zzz's...my mama told me I better!!
-Until tomorrow.

September 12, 2005

Day 1 of week OVER!

Today was a pretty good day except that after I ate my lunch my stomach was mad at me. I left work at about 1 o'clock. I finished the pricing for Maiz. That's what "senior designer" wanted done first!! I finally got to feeling better. We took J's truck to get the oil changed. Then, we ate dinner and watched a movie: Taxi with Jimmy Fallon and Queen Latifah. It was ok, nothing spectacular.

This weekend went by so fast, I forgot what I did. Oh yeah, Friday night we had friends over. We played Scene It...the girls won 2 out of 3 games. Then we played Family Feud, the guys won 2 out of 3 games. We called it even and claimed we were both "world champions of the world"! We had a great time! I ended up staying up till 3:00am. I was addicted to looking up "stuff" on the internet. I finally ripped myself away and went to bed. I slept till 11:30am the next morning. So much for my Saturday morning, I slept it away. J & I went to Sav-On and got a tank of propane for the grill. J made hamburgers for lunch. They were really good! We watched a movie: In good company. It had Dennis Quaid in it and the chic from CSI. It was a cute movie. I went shopping after that. I found some great deals! I got 4 tops for $30.00. If I would have paid full price for the tops it would have cost me $155.00. I love finding great deals where I save...$125.00!!!!!
After shopping J & I went to church. The sermon was convicting, as usual. Colossians 3:1-11.
Keep your mind focused on heaven, not on the things of this earth. Keep on seeking heaven daily. It is a continuous decision we have to make. Where does your mind wonder? What are you passionate about? It is a continuous battle for your mind. We have to renew daily about what we should be focused on. If you are not looking forward to to being with Jesus in glory then you are too in love with this world. I don't even have to explain the next verse: Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolotry.-Col 3:5. If you say you are a Christian than you should live like it!!! There is no way that you can battle these alone. We have a "do it yourself" approach to God. We think we can do everything ourself. God says you can't without him. He wants you to cry out to him "Lord, save me!" You have to take the first step, a step of faith. God will have you covered the rest of the way. You have to say "Lord, save me." God doesn't bargain. When you take the first step He will never let you down!!!! So yeah, that was really eye opening.
On Sunday, J & I pretty much did nothing all day. I read all day, shopped a little more and then we out to the softball fields at around 8:15. The church Rec team and the Competitive team had games at 9pm. I went just in case not enough girls showed up. What do you know? One of the girls gets hurt in like the 2nd inning. I played. It was fun, I guess. I apparantly hit well. Ok, I had fun. I was exhausted when I got home at 10:45. I took a quick shower and went to bed. Dark was a little menace all night. I guess Shadow decided to sleep close to J all night and when Dark came over to take her usual spot between J & I she saw the kitten. Well, Dark growled everytime she came over. That was 4 times during the night. I was ready to throw her across the room. I didn't, she finally gave up. Thank goodness. Anyway, I hope to get a better nights sleep tonight.
-Until tomorrow.

September 9, 2005

Friday again!

The weeks are just flying by. This week went especially fast because of the holiday. Today was a great day! I went in a 7 and "senior designer" and I worked hard on Barn. We completed everything we needed 1/2 hour before the client meeting. When 10:35 came around the client called and cancelled. We were actually prepared for once and the meeting doesn't happen. Just my luck. It was nice to start the day out ahead. I ordered a Meile dishwasher and had it picked up and brought back to the shop for Anders, I found 16x16 travertine at the right price and ordered it for Far, followed up on the towel bar, tp holder and faucet for Far...not in till the end of next week, I also started pricing out a new possible client Maiz. "Senior designer" is going to Florida on Sunday-Tuesday. We have 2 jobs going on there. I have lots to do and while he is gone I can get some what caught up.

Shadow had to go to the vet today. She is getting all her shots and stuff. J took her. Some guy brought his dog in without a leash and the dog ran over to shadow in her little carrier. J said that the meanest, loudest growl came from Shadow. He said you wouldn't have believed that it was her. Poor thing got scared to death by that mean dog. Anyway, she survived. Dark is hissing and growling at her because she smells like the vet.

We are having friends over tonight: Kaydee & Sarge again and Scout & Amy Jo. We are playing games and stuff! J is kicking me off the table. He is actually cleaning it off...weird, who is he and what did he do with my husband.
-Until tomorrow.

Middle of the week already!!

Only two more days till the weekend! Wa-hoo! This week has been stressful so far. Tuesday alone was just plain bad. Too much to do and not enough time to do it in. I only worked 8 1/2 hours today and I only worked 8 hours yesterday. The less hours I work the more behind I get. I don't know what to do to catch up. Tomorrow will always be better!

J & I went to our small group tonight. We started a new study. The book we are reading is In the Footsteps of Faith by John F. MacArthur. I really like it. Tonight we talked about Noah. How much faith did he have, huh? Can you imagine being Noah, building a boat, trying to talk people into coming with you, dealing with the weird stares, people laughing at him and thinking he was crazy. It took him 120 years to build the ark. Noah had never ever seen a ship before or the ocean. It hardly ever rained where he was, so he had never seen a flood before or much rain for that matter. Noah never questioned God, not once. He simply obeyed. Even Moses complained and gave excuses for why he couldn't ask Pharoah to free the people when God first told him to do it. The Bible has such amazing stories to dig deep into and to study more up close!!

Here are pictures of my little ones:

They were being silly tonight so I thought I would get some pictures of them. Shadow is only 4 months old. She is a nut. She entertains us so much right now! She attacks everything. Dark is 9 years old, she is a lovebug. She is the sweetest girl. Dark & Shadow (get it Dark Shadow...ha,ha!) get along most of the time. Dark is definitely the boss right now. It's her way or the highway! Fat was Dark's sister, she passed away in April. We really miss her alot. Here is a picture of Fat:

She was such a lover! She loved you 24/7. She was not a typical cat. In fact, she would act like a dog alot of the time. She fetched, she barked and she wagged her tail constantly when she was happy, which was ALL the time!! We felt like Dark was lonely, that is why we got Shadow. Shadow reminds us of Fat from time to time. J is teaching her to fetch. She is already showing signs of trying to be a dog too! Pets are so wonderful to have. I wouldn't want to live without them!

Today was a beautiful day!

J & I went to the 9:45 service. It was on the Book of Job. I learned some things that I didn't know...in Job:1:19 - when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you! The key to the story of Job is the conversations that God and Satan had about Job. Satan was doing everything he could to show God that if every good "thing" was taken away from Job, he wouldn't be God's faithful servant anymore. God told Satan he could do anything he wanted to Job but not take his life. Satan killed his family, destroyed all of his possessions, and put boils all over his body. Job stayed faithful at first, his wife told him to curse God, his friends told him he was cursed by God for some sin he had done. Then, Job wished he had never been born, and then blamed God for his suffering. Job was ready to take God to court when God started to ask Job the 38 questions..."where were you when I laid the earth's foundation..." The 38 questions are really cool to think about. Then, Job gets it. The Book of Job was written to encourage us in our time of suffering during tragedy. Why does God allow tragedy to happen, not cause it, but allow it? So that you & I will realize the temporary value of this world and not get to attached to it and do things for His glory that will matter in eternity, which is what it’s all about. If you want to read the entire Book of Job click here.

The day was pretty restful. J & I watched Beauty Shop with Queen Latifah, Alicia Silverstone, and Andie MacDowell. It was a good "chic flick." J & I will probably stay up late tonight and sleep in tomorrow. Sleep in, ooh that sounds wonderful!!!
-Until tomorrow.

Shopping, Shopping, Shopping!

I woke up at 7:30 this morning with the intention to go shopping by myself. J woke up at around 9 and decided that he wanted to go. Rare moment for me, I was really excited about this! We left the house at around 10 and went to J's "favorite if he HAS to go" outlets. There are stores there that he doesn't mind spending time in if I get stuck in a "girly" store for too long. J & I both need new work clothes. We found some really good deals! Here is what I found: pair of running shoes, 2 skirts, 2 pairs of capris, 1 pair of pants, a cool tray to put on our coffee table and a bright orange Happy Bunny purse for my neice's 14th birthday. After shopping all day, we were pretty tired. We got ready and went to a fancy italian resturant with J's Mom & Dad. It was really yummy. I had buttered butterfly prawns, handmade 4 cheese tortelini and chicken bolognese. I have to check the spelling on all of those. We had creme brulee for desert! Yummy. It was a nice evening out with the in-laws. I am tired now. Goodnight.

TGIF!! 7:30-4:30

Today was a weird day. I went in at 7:30 hoping to leave at 3:30. Didn't happen, of course. I worked on the revisions of Sim for most of the day, getting interupted only a couple of times by "senior" designer. I was free at 4:30! Once I got home J & I ordered Pat & Oscar's to go! We went by Blockbuster and picked out 3 movies. We watched Monster-In-Law with Jane Fonda, Jennifer Lopez and Michael Vartan. It was really cute and funny. I liked it. We went to Wal-Mart to pick up a few essentials that we needed...cat food, toothpaste, toilet paper! I have nothing interesting to say at the moment. I am definitely ready to be brainless for 3 DAYS!!
J & I just decided on going to a Steven Curtis Chapman concert on December 10 in LA!!! Steven Curtis Chapman is my favorite Christian Artist!! I added a new list to my side bar: My Favorite Christian Artists. Steven Curtis will be the first on the list!

I want to help!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

My heart is hurting for the victims and the family of the victims of Hurricane Katrina. I am searching for some way to help them. I have heard about a local company that is taking donations of water, food, clothes, anything that will help. I am going through my closets, pantry...and going to the store to buy stuff that will help. I haven't been watching much of the footage on tv because the pain is so hard to carry. The media that I have seen is so heart wrenching. I am praying constantly for these people. I feel so helpless. These people need prayers for strength, courage, safety and hope! There is hope!

A clean desk makes me happier!!

My desk when I left work today. Posted by Picasa

Worked 10 hours again today. I've got to stop this bad habit. We had a company meeting this morning. All the installers were at the office. Honey almond cream cheese on a sun dried tomato bagel, that's all I remember. I took good notes...I took the only notes. After the morning it was crazy. "Senior" designer was asking me about the airplane hangar vanity doors. I didn't have an answer right away. I looked through my archived notepads and found the delivery date of the missing doors. It was delivered November last year. They were buried in dust in the shop. "Senior" designer was not happy about that part, but he was glad we found them and he gave me kudos for being so organized and keeping such good records. I worked on the revisions for Sim for the rest of the day. I did about 25 other interupting things in between. I only got half of the revisions done. I cleaned my desk before I left. I wanted to feel good about my space before I started work tomorrow. Afterall, tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!!

I got my nails done today. They were so overdue! I love the little butterflies and flowers!

On my way home from the nail salon I saw this...

It's out of control! Posted by Picasa

It's so crazy. When I got home J needed to get gas. We decided to go check on the price of Ethanol. It was $2.49/gallon! Better than $2.99. Tomorrow it will probably be over $3.00 everywhere. One more day and I will be free...3 DAY WEEKEND!!
