Blog Party like a rock star...

There are a ton of blog parties going on. I've put out some refreshements...

Have a cup of coffee and some yummy cookies and read up on my day!

RIGHT NOW:

• Today I just found Seven Dogs and a Baby. A blog party is going on because Connor is turning 1! There are some really awesome prizes.
• At NaBloPoMo their blogging theme right now is Letters. I chose to blog about the alphabet everyday. I'm about to run out of letters. I will write a few letters to important people in my life for the last days that I don't have alphabet letters for.
• At 5 minutes for Mom they are giving away toys that they have tested and approved. It's been a fun 2 weeks!

Have a cupcake or two! I just love cupcakes. I just might even like looking at them more than eating them!! They are just so beautiful!!

ABOUT ME...I am a full time working Mom and Wife. I have been married to my most awesome husband Jeremy for almost 10 years. We have a beautiful almost 2 year old son, Lil'D. By day I am a Kitchen Designer, by evening I am a Wife, Mom, Housekeeper, Cook...etc. It has taken me 2 years to finally juggle it all in somewhat of a sane way. It is still crazy, but only by the strength of the Lord do I manage it all. My favorite color is Pink. I love purses! I was born and raised in Texas and have been a Californian for only 12 years. I was a baton twirler for over 20 years. I haven't even picked up a baton since before I got pregnant with my son. My family and friends are still and Texas and this blog is a way for them to peek into my life. Hope ya'll will come back and visit again!!

Weekend Recap...

Friday...

I left work at 11:30am for a doctor's appointment. I got home at around 12:30. I did a quick clean up and sat down to relax. We picked up Lil'D early and took him to the doctor. He has been coughing for about 3 weeks. The doctor said he was fine and just has the tail end gunk from the cold he has. She also said it could be allergies. She said to try not giving him milk for about 4 days. We got dinner afterwards. I went with my friend Kaydee to the MOPS night before garage sale. There were not that many clothes, but I scored on toys. I got a slide to put in the backyard, a shopping cart, an alphabet pal, tons of blocks and a cookie monster/elmo noisemaker. J took Lil'D to his soccer game and Auntie E took Lil'D after their game was over. I got home at about 8:30 and put Lil'D to bed. Kaydee and I yapped for almost an hour. It was nice to hang with her. J got home and we went to bed shortly after.

Saturday...

We were up around 7:30. We all ate breakfast and played with Lil'D all morning. We had to be at Grandma & Grandpa Ham's at 11:30. LittleB (oldest grandson) was turning 21. Lil'D had a blast. He loves all the kids. Uncle B was turning him upside down and he kept telling him again, again! Grandpa ran the train just for him and when the birthday cake came out and LittleB blew the candles out Lil'D wanted to blow them too. He was exhausted on the drive home. We did everything we could to keep him from falling asleep. We put him down for his nap and he slept for about 2 hours. When he got up I got him ready for church and J went to guy's night. Lil'D and I went to church. When we got home we ate and I got him to bed...then it was ME time!!!! I stretched out on the couch and watched tv and caught up on my Goodle reader. At about 11pm I could hear a couple of kids talking and laughing outside. We live on a deadend. Kids like to hang out because it's dark. As long as they are not drinkin' or smokin' and not waking up Lil'D I don't worry about them. At about 11:20 two kids were yelling at each other, cursing and then I heard a noise like someone had thrown something against a car. They continued arguing. I was a little nervous because I was at home alone. I called the 911 number and they were going to send patrol over. I went to the office and looked out the window carefully. I didn't have any lights on. I didn't want any of them to see me. As I looked out of the window a hummer drove by with a bunch of guys hanging out of the car with the doors open. It scared me to death. All I could think about was drive bys and I though they were going to start shooting any minute. I jumped away from the window and just sat on the floor talking to Jeremy on the phone. I was so scared I didn't know what to do. When I looked out the window again the car of kids that had been out there was gone, the hummer was gone and the police had corned some other cars that were not in front of our house. I can't even begin to tell you how relieved I was that the police were there. After they came, everything was quiet. They left after about 20 minutes. They even sat outside our house for a while. Jeremy got home after they left. I was so glad he was home. He had been at Dave & Buster's when I called him. He left as soon as I told him about the fight outside. It took him about a half hour to get home. We stayed up till about 1:30 just because we couldn't go to bed right after all that.

Sunday...

We got up at 9:30am. Apparantly, Lil'D had woken up earlier, but he had pulled a bunch of clothes out of his dresser that he can reach from his crib and threw them on the floor. He fell back asleep and we actually got to sleep in a bit!! We went to Legoland after breakfast. I love these passes!! They have more than paid for themselves already. We left at about 3:30. Jeremy's Dad called on our way home. He needed help with installing a new faucet for the kitchen sink. We went home first and let Lil'D get another hour of sleep and then went to see them after he woke up. We got home at 7:30, gave Lil'D a bath, and got him to bed. I spent the rest of the time working on my co-worker's tribute artist website. You can take a look at it if you want. I'm still not done.

Ten on Tuesday...

I am going to start listing 10 random thoughts that I'm thinking about every Tuesday! Hope you enjoy these!

one...I am just so incredibly happy right now!! It feels so great to be happy!!! I went through a lot of depression for the past 2 years and I am really think I am finally completely free of it!!!

two...My house is clean and has been clean for three weeks!! I have followed through on my cleaning schedule during the week! No house cleaning "scheduled" on the weekends, and it's really working!! It's not perfect, but it's not cluttered either!!

three...I am really addicted to reading my google reader!! It's like a book that never ends!! I just can't get enough!!! I wish I had more time to read!!!

four...Lil'D is getting so big. He is 22 months tomorrow. Where did my little baby boy go? When people say that the time flys by so fast they are not kidding at all!! Lately, he has really become such a well mannered little boy. He really listens and minds really well. He goes to bed without a peep. On the days we have gone to Legoland he doesn't even take a real nap and not once does he whine or act up. I don't know what we've done to make this happen, but I hope it continues!! Everybody keeps warning us about the terrible twos. I expect them any day now. The only thing bad I have noticed lately is his patience getting the best of him. He has been playing with his Thomas the train set alot and when one train derails, he kind of whines and pulls the whole train off the track. I have been really trying to make him understand that it is not a big deal and that it is very easy to just put it back on the track. He loves that train right now!

five...work is good right now. It's not out of control or crazy. It's very balanced right now. It's good to have these times, it prepares me for the crazy crunch times with Senior Designer. My main job that I am working on right now is MustardStone. It is in Montana (in case you didn't already know that). I am in the process of ordering ALL of the cabinetry right now. The kitchen, the two guest baths and the master bath have all been confirmed. This kitchen is going to be I.N.C.R.E.D.I.B.L.E! I will get a photo up of the sample we received yesterday. It's very old world traditional, but with 2 exotic veneers: Pomelle Sapelle and Redwood Burl! I can't wait to show you!

six...we just recently got annual passes to Legoland. They have a monthly plan. It's $23.00/month for Jeremy and I. Lil'D is free until he is 3!! You just can't beat that!! We have gone twice so far and Lil'D really likes it (so do we).

seven...my Mom & Dad are doing a lot of traveling with Dad's job. They drove to North Carolina on Friday and are still there right now. They are supposed to be back this weekend and they fly out on Sunday to go to Seattle, Washington. They will spend a week and a half coming down in to Oregon and then California. They will end up here in San Diego to see us! Yeah! I can't wait. I haven't seen my Dad in a year.

eight...this weekend we are going to Jeremy's parents house for a family birthday. Little B's birthday. He is the oldest grandchild. He is turning 21. There are 17 of us in the family. It is a tradition to celebrate your birthday at Grandma & Grandpa Ham's house!!

nine...I am doing my 3rd master cleanse. I did my first one in October last year, then my second in January. I want to do them with the seasons! January was my winter cleanse, now April will be my spring cleanse. I hope to do my summer cleanse in July and my winter cleanse in November...every year. I do really well with it for 5 days. In January I did it for 8 days and I was miserable and hated it. So, this time...5 days. Friday night I will eat carrots and celery. Saturday morning I will make vegetable soup and drink the broth for breakfast and lunch. Then for dinner I will have the vegetables. Sunday I can start back on regular food. BUT this time stay healthy and eat right. No bad stuff!! Try at least!!

ten...have I told ya'll how awesome Jeremy is? He vacuumed the house yesterday, mopped the kitchen floor and emptied the diaper genie and took out all the trash...and he was sick. He woke up feeling really nauseous. I think he had a 24 hour bug, because he feels better today!

Weekend recap...

Wow...the weekends just go by faster and faster. I would like just one weekend to last a little longer!! Must be because I'm enjoying life so much!

Friday...

I left work at 1:30. I did a quick pick up through the house and sat down to design a new website for my friend at work. He is a professional Elvis tribute artist. If you want to see what I'm working on click on the link below:

There is so much more about web design that I would love to learn and know, but time and resources keep me from it. I just learn as I go. I spent a couple of hours putting this together. I really enjoy it, it really releases a lot of pent up creativeness I never use!

Jeremy had a soccer game tonight. Lil'D went to bed perfectly and I organized my bookshelves in my dining room. I completely reorganized all my books and magazines, baskets and added some dishes to make it look kind of like a hutch. It took me 2 hours. But you know what, it's clean and organized!!! I caught up on my google reader and didn't get to bed until 1:30am. I love the night. I love my time and the quietness. It's good time for me.

Saturday...

morning we got up at 8:00am. We ran my truck to Wal-mart to get 2 new tires and the oil changed. We left it there and headed to Legoland!!!! It was so hot today. At least 90 degrees. Lil'Ds cheeks turned bright red from the heat. We left because it was just too hot. Lil'D took a nice nap in the car and was up by the time we got to Wal-Mart to pick up my truck. I was really surprised at how cool the house was when we walked in the door. It was about 4pm. The rest of the evening was playing with Lil'D time. After he went to bed I contined to completely catch up on my google reader and didn't get to bed until 2:30am. Oh, how I love to stay up late. I wish I didn't NEED 8 hours of sleep every night.

Sunday...

We overslept. Lil'D even overslept. We got up at 9am. We walked over to Jamba Juice. Yummy! It was a hot walk. We were all tired when we got back. For lunch we ordered pizza. Lil'D had a dip in his new pool. Next time we are going to put the water in first thing in the morning AND put half of the pool in the sun. After about 15 minutes the water was so cold Lil'D and I couldn't stand it. Lil'Ds lips turned blue and we immediately took a warm bath. Oops. During naptime J and I vegged in front of the tv. We had all the windows open and all the fans on. It was pleasant considering how hot it was. It got up to 85 degrees in the house. We do not have air conditioning, but it was managable. We have a window AC unit, but it will not fit in any of the windows...too bad. We spent the rest of the day just relaxing and enjoying Lil'D. Jeremy was chasing Lil'D before bath time. It was the funniest thing to watch. Jeremy would chase Lil'D to the door and then duck behind the kitchen cabinet, Lil'D would think Jeremy went into his room and Jeremy would jump out and scare Lil'D and Lil'D would laugh and then they would do it again. They were both out of breath after about 15 minutes of it. Lil'D went to bed at 7:45. I prepared my lemonade for tomorrow and gave myself a little treat...Creme Brulee Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Yummy!!!!

Weekend recap...

We had a wonderful busy weekend! The only bad thing about a busy weekend is it goes by way too fast!

Friday...

I ran all my errands after work. I had to go to Trader Joe's for Lil'Ds french toast. He loves that french toast. I also had to go to the Dollar Store. I LOVE THE DOLLAR STORE. It's such a simple guilty pleasure of mine! The main reason I went is to get a new bath sponge for Lil'D. I broke the handle last night because I pulled it too hard and at the wrong angle and it broke in two. There wasn't much else too exciting there on this trip. I got a sheet of airplane stickers, the bath sponge, magnetic chip clips, a spiral notebook to put in my purse, a glitter baton (I couldn't resist) and I can't remember the last item for the life of me. I spent 6 dollars! Love the dollar store!!

After my 6 dollar shopping spree I went home and did a little housework. Jeremy and I went to pick up Lil'D and stopped by my boss' house on the way home. He got an entire set of dishes from one of our client's and wanted to give them to me because it had pink in it. The pattern is pretty old and not my style at all, but I am sure I can find a good home for it. There were four boxes full of stuff. Here is a photo of the pattern:

Jeremy had a late soccer game and I worked on Lil'Ds photo book.

Saturday...

Lil'D was up at 7:30am. Jeremy and Lil'D spent the morning together. I met Chica and her sister at Cowels mountain at 9am. That mountain kicked my butt! It took about 35 minutes to get to the top. It was up all the way. I am going to make this a Saturday morning habit from now on. I'm going to do it by myself for a while and once I build up my stamina I will take Lil'D.

The DirectTV guy came and installed our new cable today. We got a way better deal from them than what we were paying for Dish Network. Lil'D napped from 1:30-4pm. We all went to Wal-mart and IKEA. Lil'D loves the slide at IKEA. He was so ready for bed when we got home. I uploaded a ton of photos for my Mom's photo album from wal-mart.com. I can upload them and put the order in and have all the photos sent to her Wal-mart for her to pick up.

Sunday...

Jeremy decided to take us to Legoland. We are doing the monthly membership. We pay $23 a month and we can go whenever we want. Lil'D will be free until he turns 3. He had the best time. It was a perfect day. He took everything in. He absolutely loved it. He caught a cat nap on the way there and on the way home. He never slept a wink while we were there. He never once pulled any fits or disagreed with anything the whole day. It was great! We got Lil'D to bed at 7pm. I blogged, watched tv and was in bed by 9:45pm.

And the weekend was gone!! Now we have to get through the week again to get to next weekend!!
